Butcherbird Models: News / HOW TO ORDER

Galveston Flight Museum - July 6, 2009

Well, as a kid, i went to galveston every year with my parents. Some have condsidered the Island to be Not the hot spot that it once was. Never mattered to me. I have been a loyal visiter my whole life and always will. Besides, they have cleaned it up a lot and, even after Ike it is becoming the place to be on the Texas coast.

Speaking of Hurricane Ike, one of the country's best flight museum housing a huge sellection of priceless WWII aircraft almost lost a whol display hanger. Visit lsfm.org and you can read all about it and see what the place has to offer.

I took a ton of pictures and am in the middel of sending some of them out to the emailing list. The first batch of photos are of the beast that greats you once you walk in the door, a PB4Y. Basically a Liberator with one huge tail. There will be more to come. Check out the photos on this site. Can you say GUN TURRETS?

Surprise free offers!!! - July 6, 2009

Picked up some little stuff at the Galveston, Tx Lone Star Flight Museum and will be sending little surprises to some of you collectors that have bought models from me who have used Paypal. You will be picked at random...so check the mail....you never know.

Check out the splash page Gekko. - February 13, 2009

I have some pix in the picture section showing some of the Silver Gekko build. I pre-paint the interior parts right on the sprue when I can. Then comes a wash...this time I tried a watered down acrylic and it worked great. For detail pop, a dry brushing was given to all the pre painted and washed parts with either white or silver, what ever was called for. The cocpit goes together, fuselage and wings assymbled and left to cure over nite. The painting is done with Tamiya Flat Aluminum and sealed with Johnson's Floor Wax. That allows the decals to set nice but a lot of Micro-Sol was used to get them totally into the recessed panel lines. I used an oil wash to accent the panel lines. This customer was not into historical accuracy so I took a lot of liberty in building a plane that probably exists only in my mind.

Busy Bird - December 17, 2008

man, have things gone well for the Butcherbird! The only bummer is it is taking about 4 weeks to turn jobs around now, but, for the serious collector, that's not too long. Check out the photos of just some of ther stuff i have built this year and than for your visit here to the site.

IPMS Gold and Silver - June 26, 2008

Well, I finalley did it! I hit paydirt at the North texas Regional IPMS model contest. It is actually my second IPMS event I have ever entered, the first being 2 years ago. This time I cam prepared but still not sure I would place.

Much to my suprise, My 14.8 scale Serien Float plane got second place in the Single Engine Prop All Eras Division and I won ae coveted first place in the Luft 46 Division with a Ta-183.

I was truely honored and humble.
